Building notices for illegal building work in Wyndham are served by Wyndham City Council's municipal building surveyor, the registered building surveyor the council appoints to enforce the Building Act. A building notice asks you to show cause, in writing and by the date printed on it, why you should not have to do what it describes, such as demolishing and removing the work. Make your representations to the municipal building surveyor in the manner the notice gives. If the municipal building surveyor is not satisfied, or nothing arrives in time, they can make a building order.
Wyndham City Council keeps a register of building notices and orders in the municipality, which anyone can inspect during office hours. If you are buying a property, ask the council whether one applies to it.

To have the notice cancelled, your representations to the municipal building surveyor should reply to each item in the notice and include the report, building permit and, once the work is complete, the final certificate.
